Found an article that did a good job summing up my thoughts. When the story first broke out I thought it was no big deal. If the same thing had happened in Athens or Sydney it wouldn't even make the news. However, given the larger narrative of CCP's authoritarian rule this story makes one wonder if China has been so willing to hide something as inconsequential as a child singer's face, what else could they be hiding?
